GENTRY — The Lady Pioneers traveled to Gravette on April 22 to play the Lady Lions. This game was senior night for Gravette and was both team’s last conference game.
The Lady Lions hit much better than the Lady Pioneers, which gave them more opportunity to score. Gravette beat Gentry, 10-0.
The next game had the Lady Pioneers hosting the Bentonville Lady Tigers on April 25. The Lady Pioneers were not able to come out with a win. Gentry did not have very many errors, but Bentonville was able to hit really well. The Lady Tigers won, 10-1.
“We didn’t do as well as we would’ve liked to," said Lynzey Sikes of the Bentonville game, a sophomore. "We are looking to prepare ourselves for the conference tournament that starts on Thursday.”
The conference tournament for baseball and softball will be held in Gentry this year and will occur April 28-30. The softball team will play at 2 p.m. on Thursday, April 28, against the Huntsville Lady Eagles. The baseball team plays at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday against Berryville. Come out and support the Pioneers!
