Pioneers fall to Saints in Springdale

Gentry falls to Gravette on Friday

GENTRY -- The Gentry Pioneers fell to Shiloh Christian, 5-1, in seven innings on Thursday at Springdale.

Ayden Smartt held Shiloh Christian hitless over the final 1 2/3 innings and allowed no earned runs, but the damage was already done.

Shiloh Christian scored two runs on a two-run double in the fourth. Gentry's only run came in the fifth when Dylan Rayburn, pinch runner for Josh Cochran, made it to third on a Sean Pierce single to center field and then was advanced home on a balk.

Shiloh Christian responded with three runs in the fifth, one on a passed ball and two on a home run.

The Lions scored two runs in the bottom of the fourth when the Pioneers came to town on Friday. The Pioneers struck back with a run in the fifth but were stopped there, giving Gravette a 2-1 victory.

Brady Rolsma pitched seven strong innings to carry Gravette to its win over Gentry.

Gravette's runs came on a two-run single by Chase Owens.
