GENTRY -- The July 18 meeting of the Highfill Extension Homemakers Club was called to order by Peggy Dillahunty in the Gentry Library.
We had one guest, Janet Pack, and she joined the club. We had 11 members present and had 168 volunteer hours.
Inspirational thoughts were by Helene Zambrano. Zambrano also shared about her trip to Holland. It was very informative.
New ideas were shared. Jeanie Hittson had a book her sister had written and published about her life in the Depression years. Margaret had a beautiful pin cushion. Shirley Philpott had a hand-pieced Overall Sam quilt top.
The Fair is coming up August 9-13. Entries are August 6 for all your goods.
Our lesson on "Drying Fruits and Vegetables" was given by Effie Byers and Peggy Dillahunty. It was very informative. The meeting adjourned with reading the creed.
