Council discusses road paving, speed bumps

SPRINGTOWN -- Council members in Springtown discussed speed bumps on Main Street and street paving projects in town during the council's July 26 meeting.

The town does plan to install speed bumps to slow traffic on Main Street but plans to wait until all the road paving in town is finished.

The council approved a resolution for the state to move forward with paving Springtown Road -- a requirement of the state. According to meeting notes supplied by the town recorder, the state will only pave Springtown Road and Main Street this year and was considering drainage issues on the hill. Springtown can apply for additional road aid next year for other paving projects, according to the notes.

Chuck Bostwick is donating an "In God We Trust" banner to be hung in town hall, according to the notes. A resolution to hang an "In God We Trust" banner inside the hall was approved at the June council meeting. The council, in June, also approved the purchase of three high-quality American flags to be flown along Main Street.
