DECATUR — Doreen J. Martin, 62, of Decatur, was killed in a head-on two-vehicle crash on Arkansas Highway 59 Highway at the Crystal Lake turnoff on Thursday, Aug. 11.
According to an Arkansas State Police preliminary fatal crash summary, Martin was northbound in a 2000 Jeep and approaching Crystal Lake Road when a southbound 2008 Ford F-350 pulling a trailer crossed the centerline into the northbound lane to avoid hitting a stopped vehicle.
The Ford truck struck Martin's Jeep head on, according to the crash summary. The accident occurred about 10 a.m.
Martin, according to the report, was taken to the Benton County Coroner's office.
The identity of the driver of the pickup truck was not released, nor was any information released regarding passengers or injuries to others.
