GENTRY -- Parents and Pioneer fans were given a chance to meet the Pioneers at a special event on Friday night in Pioneer Stadium. Coaches and team members were introduced on the edge of the football field prior to a short football scrimmage and a meal at the stadium.
Teams introduced included golf, cross country, volleyball, cheer squads and football teams. The bands were also introduced and played for the occasion.
As their names were called out over the public address system, the students stepped forward or waved to the crowd.
At a special ceremony at the beginnng of the event, track coach Daniel Ramsey presented Cole Cripps with his championship ring for taking first at state competition last spring in the pole vault, clearing 14 feet, six inches.
The meal following the scrimmage was provided by the Gentry Pioneer Booster Club and by Farm Credit Services.
