GRAVETTE -- The dictionary says "bombshell" is an informal word for a very attractive woman and it is expected that the three stylists in the new Bombshell Salon on Gravette Main Street will have some bombshells walking out of their shop. Julie Furlow Skinner says she chose the name because it just sounded like a fun, colorful name for a beauty shop and she thought it fit the colorful surroundings in the recently remodeled building.

The Bombshell Salon opened around the first of September and Skinner plans to hold the grand opening next Tuesday evening, Dec. 13, to coincide with the visit of the KCS Holiday Express. Refreshments will be served and drawings will be held for three or more large door prizes.

All three of the stylists in the shop have previously owned their own shops. Hidee Duncan, Kari White and Julie Skinner have recently been associated with the Shabby Chic Salon in the south part of town and Skinner is the former owner of the Enchantres beauty salon and spa on Hwy. 72 west of town. She has had her license for 10 years. Both Duncan and White have been stylists for 24 years, Duncan in the Gravette area and White in Gravette, Pea Ridge and Siloam.

All three will give haircuts and permanents, do hair styling and coloring. The shop is open six days a week. The stylists operate mainly by appointment but drop-ins are always welcome. Appointments may be made by calling Skinner, 479-228-2137; Duncan, 479-936-1657; or White, 479-549-5452.

Eyelash extensions are available at Bombshell Salon and permanent cosmetics, eyeliners, eyebrow microblading and lip cosmetics will be coming soon. The shop will carry the Kenra line of shampoos, conditioners and hairsprays for retail sale and several gift sets will be available during the holidays.

Patrons can check the Bombshell Salon Facebook page for products and services offered and current specials.
