GENTRY -- Gentry High School business students, on Nov. 16, competed in the Business Opportunities for Successful Students competition, through which students learn to manage and run a fictitious business over an eight-week period and then present their business plan and promotions in front of a judging panel made up of executives from Fed Ex, which serves as the sponsor for the BOSS project.

The simulation is run by North Arkansas Community College in Harrison and is sponsored financially by Fed Ex.

Gentry students who participated in the compettion included Miley McMillan, a Gentry sophomore, and seniors Derek German and Clay Wills who both competed in the spring and fall of last last year.

And this was the third straight win for German and Wills, who placed first, along with McMillan, in the stockholders presentation in November. The Gentry students made their presentation via a live video conference rather than traveling to Harrison.

Joni Wilson is the team's business teacher and sponsor.
