Gentry falls in Berryville and Huntsville

GENTRY -- The Pioneers fell in close games to both the Bobcats and the Eagles last week. Against Berryville, the Bobcats earned a big 4A-1 Conference win by edging out the Gentry Pioneers on Jan. 26 by a score of 66-63. Brady Smith led the Bobcats with 22 points.

Berryville also won the girls' game, 48-36. The Lady Bobcats took the lead early and were up 29 to 17 by the half. The Lady Pioneers rallied in the third quarter to pull within seven, at 35-28, but the Berryville girls dominated the fourth quarter and secured the win.

Haley Borgeteien-James led the Lady Pioneers in scoring with 21 points. Mallory Morris had nine. Hannah Boss and Kya DeZurik each had three.

Gentry v. Huntsville

The Gentry Pioneers also fell in an away game at Huntsville on Friday by a single point, 52-51.

The Gentry girls' game at Huntsville was postponed due to a sudden death in the coach's family on Friday and will be played on Wednesday.
