Gentry hosts Siloam Springs at Hillside Lanes

Boys seventh, girls eighth in state

GENTRY -- Bowling teams from Gentry High School hosted a bowling match against Siloam Springs on Feb. 4 at Hillside Lanes, just east of Gentry.

According to the new Pioneer Press, in an article by Sidney Kinser, the boys' team scored 949; and the top three scorers for the boys were senior Wyatt Clark, sophomore Myles McFerron and sophomore Daniel Thao. Clark bowled a 211, McFerron bowled a 184 and Thao bowled a 158.

The girls' team total was 750. The top three scorers were seniors Carol Williams, Rebecca Martin and Sabra Philpott. Williams bowled a high score of 178, Martin bowled a 139 and Philpott bowled a 121.

The boys' team finished seventh at the state tournament earlier this month, and the girls finished eighth. Wyatt Clark was an all-state selection.
