Police investigating accidents, thefts

GENTRY -- Police in Gentry have been busy investigating accidents, burglaries and thefts during the past week. One of the accidents occurred Thursday on Gentry Blvd., near the intersection of S. McKinnon Ave. According to police, Shai Jones drove her sport utility vehicle left of center and into the path of a vehicle driven by Alberto Vega. No injuries were reported.

Numerous cases of shoplifting were worked at the Dollar General Store in Gentry. Among those charged in connection with shoplifting were Katrina Cryer on Jan. 3, Leif Andersen on Jan. 1, and Cassandra Abbott on Dec. 31. Police are also investigating an alleged shoplifting in which an employee was struck (but not injured) by a yet unidentified alleged shoplifter who fled in a motor vehicle.

Police reported that Jennifer Ramirez was charged with obstructing official operations in connection to a disturbance call on S. Little.

Police are also investigating a possible attempted burglary at the home of Brandon Kuelper on Jan. 4.
