Benton County planners OK office plans

BENTONVILLE -- Benton County planners unanimously approved the lone item on their agenda in a 20-minute meeting Jan. 6 and agreed to cancel the board's second monthly meeting, scheduled for Jan. 20, after learning there are no agenda items for that meeting.

The Planning Board briefly reviewed a proposed 4,200-square-foot contractor's office for Centerpoint Contractors at 10316 E. Arkansas 72.

The company has a 7,500-square-foot warehouse and 1,400-square-foot office on adjacent parcels at the site. The proposal was initially reviewed last month during the board's Technical Advisory Committee.

According to county planning records, the site plans were revised to reflect the questions raised by the board in December. The new plans showed a line of white pine trees to buffer the commercial development from a residence immediately to the southwest.

According to the county's land use compatibility matrix, the proposed professional office use is questionably compatible with residents use and requires added screening and buffering between the new building and the existing residential property.

The company also moved the septic system proposed for the development.
