Gravette beats Berryville in overtime, Lady Lions lose

GRAVETTE -- Kyle Fox drained a 15-foot jumper at the final buzzer, lifting Gravette to an overtime victory at Berryville in 4A-1 Conference play Friday night.

Gravette (8-7, 2-1) scored 21 points in the third quarter to double its offensive output and take a 42-36 lead, but Berryville bounced back and tied the game at 59 at the end of regulation.

Fox finished with 24 points to lead a trio of Lions in double figures while Dayton Wishon added 15 and Jackson Soulé 14.

Gravette won the game, 67-65, in overtime.

The Lady Lions were held to only 10 points in the first half when they visited Berryville on Friday night, with the Lady Bobcats tearing up the Lady Lions in the second and third quarters for a 59-30 victory.

It was 8 to 6, Berryville, at the end of the first quarter, but the Berryville girls held Gravette to only four points in the second quarter and racked up 22 points of their own to take a 30-10 lead. In the third, Berryville scored another 20 points and built on their lead even though Gravette finally got going and picked up 13 points at the board. In the final quarter Berryville picked up nine points to Gravette's seven, to seal the victory.
