GENTRY -- A Missouri man who told police he was trying to reclaim his belongings was arrested Jan. 4 after police said they found him armed in a former girlfriend's house.

Jason Allen Farmer, 32, of 6120 County Lane 70 in Reeds, Mo., was arrested in connection with aggravated assault, aggravated robbery, three counts of felony first-degree terroristic threatening and misdemeanor domestic battery.

Police were called to a Willow Street address in Gentry at 1:48 p.m. on Jan 4. A woman ran out the front door, and a neighbor told police a man armed with an assault rifle was in the house, according to a probable cause affidavit for Farmer's arrest. Farmer surrendered to police when they entered the house, according to the affidavit.

Police and Benton County Sheriff's Office deputies documented bruising on the woman, who said Farmer, her ex-boyfriend, arrived at the house at 1:21 p.m. She told him to leave and was calling police, and he kicked down the door, according to the affidavit. Farmer was wearing a flak jacket and carrying a rifle, the woman said.

Farmer punched and kicked her, slapped her on the face and held a knife to her face saying he would disfigure her, according to the affidavit. The woman ran to a neighbor's house, but Farmer followed and pushed her back toward her house, according to the affidavit.

Farmer loaded up a television and another rifle, but the woman opened the car door and grabbed the rifle, according to police documents. The woman told police Farmer grabbed her by the throat after she grabbed the rifle.

Farmer told police he called his former girlfriend and asked about getting his belongings. She had stolen his guns in Missouri and attacked him after he arrived, he told police. Police found no marks or injuries matching Farmer's description, according to the affidavit. He told police the door frame broke when he tripped, according to the affidavit.

The neighbor told police he awoke to the woman beating on the door. She told him her ex-boyfriend had beaten her and asked him to call police, according to the affidavit.

Police recommended a no-contact order for both parties in a Jan. 5 report.

Farmer was released from the Benton County Jail on a $25,000 bond last Wednesday.
