New medical services offered at Medical Plaza

SILOAM SPRINGS -- Siloam Springs Internal Medicine has relocated to the new Siloam Springs Medical Plaza at 3721 E. U.S. 412 Hwy. in Siloam Springs, where a new walk-in clinic has also opened.

Siloam Springs Internal Medicine, previously located on Progress Avenue, opened in the new Siloam Springs Medical Plaza on Monday, Jan. 18. Dr. R.E. "Bud" Meehan, D.O., and Jennifer Smith, A.P.R.N., offer comprehensive primary care, from routine and preventive health services to special needs. Helping patients maintain good health and wellness -- for a lifetime -- is their primary goal.

Meehan attended college at Northeast Missouri State University in Kirksville, Mo. He received his medical education from Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine in Kirksville. Dr. Meehan completed his internship and residency at Deaconess Medical Center -- West in St. Louis.

As an advanced practice registered nurse, Smith can treat and diagnose health problems, perform procedures, prescribe medication, order and interpret lab tests, refer patients to specialists and physicians, and be a patient advocate. She is a board-certified adult gerontology acute care nurse practitioner, which allows her to provide advanced care to meet the needs of young adults, older adults and the elderly with complex acute or chronic health conditions.

The new location offers expanded services, including X-ray and laboratory services.
