GRAVETTE -- Jackson Soule', a senior at Gravette High School, signed a letter of intent last Wednesday to play baseball next year at Butler Community College in Kansas. Soule' is the son of Bruce and Tonya Soule', of Gravette. A big crowd of family members, high school teammates and friends were on hand at the fieldhouse for the signing ceremony. Also on hand were Randall Hunt, head GHS baseball coach, and Jake Featheringill, Jackson's coach on the Midwest Nationals, a travel team he plays for in the summers which goes all over the United States playing baseball.

Soule' is a three-sport athlete at Gravette High School, lettering in football, basketball and baseball. He was a 4A-1 All Conference player in all three sports last year and received 4A All-State honors in football last fall and a roster spot in the Arkansas All Star Game this summer for football.

Last season Soule' was the lead-off hitter on Gravette's baseball team for most of the season. He led the team in 13 of 16 categories, including batting average (.407), slugging percentage (.667), stolen bases (15), doubles (5), hits (22), triples (3), home runs (1), RBI (14) and runs (28).

"Jackson is a great all-around player, coachable and a natural leader for our family, both on and off the field. I am excited to see him take his game and academic endeavors up to the next level," said Hunt.

Jackson is the ninth player in the last four years to sign and play at the college level out of the Gravette baseball program.
