Highfill EH Club News

The Highfill Extension Homemakers Club meeting was held June 20 in the Gentry Public Library. The meeting was called to order by vice president, Peggy Dillahunty. We had seven guests and four joined. We welcome Effie Byers, Eunice Burd, Linda Misner and Jeanie Hittson.

We had the Pledge of Allegiance and our song, "Love Him in the Morning." Roll call was answered by 12 members. We had a total of 205 volunteer hours.

Inspirational thoughts were shared by Helene Zambrano. The minutes and treasurer's report were given. The fair is coming up soon and we need workers and exhibits. New ideas were shared. Jeanie Hittson had several wreaths and some flowers made from empty K-cups. Faith Sampson had some pot holders she had made. Shirley Philpott had a Phoenix quilt.

Shirley Philpott had the lesson on putting extra canning jars to work. There are many different ways of using jars. We all shared ideas.

We adjourned our meeting with the benediction. We invite anyone in the community to our next meeting, July 18, at the Gentry Public Library.
