IRWP is offering free trees for streamside restoration

GENTRY -- Native trees are available without cost to Illinois River Watershed landowners for stream-side restoration and water quality protection and improvement through Illinois River Watershed Partnership's tree farms, operated in cooperation with the Flint Creek Power Plant and the Boston Mountain Solid Waste District, according to information released by IRWP.

Chinkapin oak, cherry-bark oak, northern red oak, Shumard oak, white oak, persimmon, sugar berry, black walnut and black gum trees are among native trees listed for the stream-side-restoration giveaway. The trees were raised on tree farms hosted by the Flint Creek Power Plant and by the Boston Mountain Solid Waste District.
