GHS Class of '46

The Gravette High School Class of 1946 will hold its 70th anniversary reunion on Saturday, August 13. The class will meet for the pancake breakfast at the school cafeteria between 8 and 9 a.m. Class members will then visit the Gravette Historical Museum and attend the Gravette Day Parade. The class will meet for lunch and fellowship at 1 p.m., at the home of Kenneth and Erma Blackburn, 2445 W. Centerton Blvd., Centerton. RSVP by calling 417-527-3975.

Yoga for School Supplies

A free yoga class is being offered in exchange for a school supply donation, with all supplies collected being donated to the Gentry Public School District. 'Superhero' VBS

Gentry First Assembly of God is holding Vacation Bible School through Friday, July 22, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m., for children, ages 4-11. The theme is "Superhero Faith." The church is east of Dollar General, at 821 East Main St.

'Vacation Bible Xperience'

Gentry Seventh-day Adventist Church is holding its Vacation Bible School, "Vacation Bible Xperience: Kidsville -- Where Jesus loves others through you," at the church, 21090 Dawn Hill East Road, from 6 to 9 p.m. through July 22, with a program at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 23.

New Revival Concert

The New Revival Quartet will perform a concert at the Gravette First Assembly of God Church, on Arkansas Highway 72, west of town, at 6 p.m., Sunday, July 31. The public is invited to come out and enjoy the music.

GHS Freshman Boot Camp

Gravette High School has announced its first Freshman Boot Camp, an opportunity for members of the class of 2020 to spend a day at the high school and ask questions and become comfortable with their new school. Students will get to know upperclassmen who will mentor them throughout their freshman year, tour the building and ask questions about what it is like to be at GHS. Freshman Boot Camp is being held Aug. 2 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Registration is available on the district Facebook page and the district website.

NAGS to Meet

The Northwest Arkansas Genealogical Society will meet Monday, July 25, at 6 p.m., at the Bentonville Public Library, 405 South Main. Anita Burney, executive director of the Historical Society of Elm Springs, will speak about the new Heritage Center in Elm Springs and its new Genealogy and Historical Research Library Division and its resources. Summer Reading in Gentry

Gentry Public Library is holding its summer reading program from 1 to 3 p.m. each Wednesday through July 27. The July 20 theme is "Sports." The program's wrap-up party will be held July 27 in the city park for the program's participants and their families. There will be awards, games, prizes and fun. Summer Reading in Gravette

The Gravette Public Library at 119 Main St., S.E., is holding its summer reading program, "On Your Mark, Get Set, Read!" The last two sessions will be held 1-2:30 p.m. Thursday, July 21, and 9-11 a.m. Tuesday, July 26.

Highfill Men's Breakfast

First Baptist Church of Highfill will hold a men's fellowship breakfast on the first Saturday of each quarter at 8 a.m. All adult and youth men are welcome. For information, call 479-233-0242.

Gravette Farmers' Market

Gravette farmers' market is open on Saturdays from 8 a.m. until 1 p.m. in Old Town Park. Offerings include locally grown fruits and vegetables, beef and pork, eggs, a variety of plants, baked goods, jams and jellies. Local crafts are also featured. Market vendors set up booths in the covered pavilion at the park.

Gentry Farmers' Market

The farmers' market in Gentry is open on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays at the south side (along Arkansas 12) parking area of Gentry City Park. Farmers may set up between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m. on Tuesdays, 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. on Thursdays, and 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturdays.

Decatur Farmers' Market

The Decatur Farmers' Market will continue operations at the Decatur Coop True Value Hardware store parking lot every Thursday from 4 to 8 p.m. Homegrown fruits and vegetables, canned goods and handmade craft are available for purchase. Booth space is available for $5, limited to two spaces per vendor. For more information call 572-3399.

NWA Riding Club

NWA Riding Club is holding bi-weekly play days at a new arena located at 16949 Arkansas 102 West in Decatur. Play days begin with exhibition rides at 4:30 p.m., followed by regular events at 5 p.m. Events include pole bending, keyhole, barrel racing, goat tying (tentative) and flag racing (tentative). Highfill Food Pantry

The Highfill United Methodist food pantry is open from 6 to 8 p.m. on the second and fourth Wednesdays of the month. For more information, call the church at 479-736-1275.

Maysville Food Pantry

A free food distribution is held the first Saturday of each month at the Maysville Bible Church, Arkansas 72 and Cunningham, in Maysville. Anyone who is in need of food is welcome to attend.

Decatur Food Pantry

Decatur United Methodist Church has a community food pantry open the first and third Thursday of each month. The only requirement for the pantry is that one live in the 72722 zip code area. An identification and a piece of mail showing one's residence in the Decatur area are required. A USDA commodity program is available which is income-based. Those wishing to do so can fill out an application to see if they qualify.

Lions Club Meetings

Gravette Lions Club meets at noon on the first Tuesday and the third Tuesday of every month at the In-Zone Restaurant on Arkansas 59 North in Gravette. The Gentry Lions Club meets at 6:30 p.m. on the fourth Monday of the month at the McKee Community Room in Gentry Public Library. New members are welcome and invited.

Gravette Kiwanis Club

The Gravette Kiwanis Club holds breakfast meetings at 7 a.m. each Friday at the cafeteria in Ozarks Community Hospital. Guests are welcome.

Gravette Legion

Gravette American Legion Post 25 meets at 7 p.m. the third Tuesday of the month at the Civic Center. All veterans are encouraged to attend.

Singing Services

Monthly singing services at Mason Valley Baptist Church Activity Center are held at 7 p.m. the second Friday of each month. The church is located on Arkansas Hwy. 12, between Highfill and Vaughn.

Monthly singing services at Falling Springs Church are held at 7 p.m. the first Friday of each month. The church is located northwest of Gentry and west of Decatur on Falling Springs Road.

Decatur VFW Meetings

VFW Post 9834 meets at 7:30 p.m. on the first Tuesday of each month. New members and guests are welcome.
