GENTRY -- It was Gentry Night at Arvest Ballpark on Wednesday, July 13, and scores of Gentry residents came out to cheer on the Naturals in their game against the visiting Springfield Cardinals.

Burl Lyons, an outfielder on Gentry's town baseball team in 1950-51 and a Navy veteran, threw out the ceremonial pitch at the game.

The Gentry Pride softball team, made up of Madison Boyles, Liberty Brannon, Afton Finnell, Bailey Galloway, Mattison Hamilton, Kyleigh Wheaton, Mazzi Jones, Shanie Barbee, Paige Greer and Malea Wilson, were photographed behind home plate before the game got underway. The girls are coached by Clay Stewart, Ronnie Barbee and Matt Hamilton, who accompanied the girls at the stadium.

The girls' softball team received a portion of the Gentry ticket sales to the event to help defray the costs of a team trip to play in the United States Specialty Sports Association's national championship tournament for the Southeastern Division this week in Gulf Shores, Ala.

Gentry's mayor, Kevin Johnston, was also introduced at the opening of the game.

And the Gentry residents at the game got to watch the Naturals outhit and beat the Cardinals by a score of 6 to 1.
