Gravette pool now open for swimmers

— The Gravette city pool is open for business and available for swimmers, young and old. The pool, located on Charlotte Street just east of the Civic Center, opened May 27.

Open hours for the pool are 12 noon to 6 p.m. Monday through Saturday. Pool admission is $1 for children 8 and under and $2 for everyone age 9 and above. Individual passes are available for $50 which will permit the holder to swim at any time all summer long. Family passes are available for $100. Up to five names can be listed on a family pass and additional names may be added for $10 per person.

Senior swims are scheduled from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. Monday, Wednesday and Friday. Senior swim participants can participate in water yoga exercises.

The pool is available for anyone wanting to hold a party, including families, youth groups or clubs. Parties may be scheduled any day from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. or on Sunday any time after 1 p.m. Charge for parties of 25 or less is $75 and parties with more than 25 persons cost $100. Parties may be scheduled by calling the pool, 479-344-6089.

Two sessions of swim lessons are scheduled at the pool. Each session lasts two weeks and costs $50. The first session started Monday, June 6, and will continue through June 16. The second session will be held from Tuesday, July 5, through July 14. Lessons will be taught by the pool lifeguards.

Kendra Greenhaw is pool manager and Jacob Bookout is assistant manager. Other lifeguards are Claudia Anderson, Cori Overstreet, Micayla Hendricks and Corbin Anderson.
