Taking care of yourself is a skill one should polish just a little

Do you think it is possible to wear out pipe corrals? I sure hope not, but we have been trying! I know it is hard on all of us, but the old body has held together remarkably well and I do believe I can still outdo the younger of the offspring! Not saying I ain't wore to a nub, but I still walk without leaving long drag marks in the dirt!

Thankful for pretty weather again and old Dog is snappy and Snip is foxy. I have ridden the fences around the leased pastures this morning. It is a pure pleasure to breathe in cool, moist air on a good horse and have a fine dog trotting along at the side. I guess I am about the best-blessed feller I know!

My close relative has gone to see her cousin in the city. I had to rustle up my own breakfast this morning so I had coffee and LittleDebbie cakes. I don't mind some days alone to do my own thing, but I sure hope she comes back before I run out of junk food! I came in and cleaned up so I could go to the coffee emporium for lunch and, by golly, that was a good juicy burger and greasy fries! I figure on a big steak for supper, followed by berry pie a la mode! Do not spread this little news item around as my close relative might figure she could never leave me alone again!

The hay is flying around in the air! There seems to be a mower running in every field between here and the state line! Some have already baled up a good number of bales but I have been worried about starting too early and having soured stuff again. I have a barn full left from the good season last year and we will get with it this week. Of course, good fishing weather is always good haying weather!

I am planning a trip sometime this summer to go see something we have not seen before. I don't know where to plan on yet, but I am studying my new atlas and thinking about the east coast. I see some fine pictures of the cattle country in Georgia and I might like to go that way. Depends on what that close relative of mine decides, of course!

I see the hemlock weeds are sure doing good. I don't know if the cattle will graze it or not. I know they will taste the tops but never have seen them eat the weed. I am gonna have to inquire at Google about the deal. Maybe some of you fellers can enlighten me, meet me at the coffee emporium this week for supper!

It is my opinion, and everyone has one, taking care of yourself is as easy as you make it. I can cook myself bacon and eggs, fix a pot of chili, cook beans in the slow cooker or, in a bind, eat a sandwich of eggs and cheese. It is a fine art and one that we, every human, needs to polish up and use! I figure about four days is polish enough!

Keep your eyes on the road.
