— It would be a rare sight to see a white tiger in the wild, but visitors to Gentry's Wild Wilderness Drive-through Safari can go inside the cage and even touch a white tiger cub.

Chubs, a 13-week-old female white Bengal tiger, played in an enclosure at the Safari last week and allowed visitors to stroke her fur and play with her.

Though her paws are almost as big as a human hand, she wasn't much bigger than the Australian shepherd puppy who kept her company in the enclosure last week, but that will change quickly as she matures into a huge cat, 9 to 10 feet long from nose to tail tip and weighing as much as 500 pounds.

For those who would like to encounter a white tiger up close and personal, now is the time to do it while Chubs is just a big playful kitten.

The Safari also has three wolf pups in a large enclosure at the petting zoo. The three pups - two males and a female - are friendly and playful as well but are growing fast.
