GENTRY -- Work began last week to expand the parking lot at Gentry High School. Dirt and grassy areas were removed, along with trees, to extend the parking lot closer to Pioneer Lane.
The expansion was approved by the school board in April to help replace parking spaces lost when the Pioneer Activities Complex was built a few years ago. The plan will leave a narrow grass strip between the parking area and Pioneer Lane but will remove the drive and grassy area which were on the east side of the parking area to increase the number of parking spaces at the school.
