Gravette Church of God (Holiness)

The Church of God (Holiness), located at 4th and Atlanta in Gravette, will be in revival through March 6. The speaker will be Pastor Chris King of Fordland, Mo. There will be special singing each service. The public is invited to attend the services each night at 7:30 Tuesday through Saturday and on Sunday at 10:45 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. For information or transportation, call 787-7312.

Weather Spotter Training

The Benton County Emergency Management Agency will host a weather spotter training on Tuesday, March 15, from 6:30 to 9 p.m. at the Northwest Arkansas Community College Global Business Development Center in the Peterson Auditorium in Bentonville. The training is free and open to the public. A meteorologist from the National Weather Service in Tulsa, Okla., will provide the training. The goal of the training is not just to recognize severe weather that affects our area, but also to have an understanding of storm structure and development. Other topics covered in the class will include an update on the latest NWS technology and procedures, as well as important safety considerations.

Prom Dress Drive

Project Princess 2016 is now accepting donations of new and gently-used prom and formal dresses in all sizes appropriate for young women (no damaged or semi-formal dresses will be accepted; prom dresses, formal evening dresses or bridesmaid dresses will be accepted). Additional items such as shawls, clutches, shoes and costume jewelry are also needed. A local drop-off event will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on March 5 at the Gravette Civic Center. Another donation event is planned for 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., March 19, at the Gravette Civic Center. The goal of the drive is to make prom dresses and accessories available to girls who could not otherwise afford them. Job Fair

A job fair, hosted by the Schmieding Center for Senior Education and Ozarks Community Hospital, will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday, March 14, at the Gravette Civic Center. Home health and health care workers are in huge demand and participants will be able to talk to home care agencies and health care facilities that have openings. They will learn how they can get trained and go to work in three weeks or less. This should be especially useful for persons who have been laid off, are returning to the workforce or seeking a new career. Lunch will be provided for job seekers only.

Family Bowling

A family bowling night will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday, March 4, at Community Bowl, 1490 West Hwy. 412, Siloam Springs. Tickets are $15 per team and include two games of bowling, pizza and soft drinks. Tickets are available for purchase at the Siloam Springs Parks and Recreation office, located at 120 South Mt. Olive Street, through 5 p.m. on March 4. Space is limited. The event will be open for "teams" of two members of the same family; one adult and one child, age 12 and younger. Gardening Workshop

A ​Gardening 101 Workshop is being offered without charge from 9 a.m. until noon on Saturday, March 12, at the Community Building, 110 N. Mt. Olive, Siloam Springs. Dawn Denton, owner of Gardens by You and Me, has arranged the spring workshop again this year. Guest speakers will be covering several garden planning and maintenance topics. Conservation District Meeting

Baked Potato Dinner

The public is invited to come, share the luck of the Irish at the Siloam Springs Rainbow Girl baked potato dinner, featuring a baked potato with all the fixings, salad, dessert and drink, from 5 to 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, March 15, at the Siloam Springs Masonic Lodge, 200 N. College (located along Sager Creek, next to Bob Henry Park). Tickets are $5 in advance or $7 at the door. Children under 7 years of age eat free. Proceeds will support the International Order of the Rainbow for Girls, a non-profit service organization for girls, 11-21 years of age. Easter Eggstravaganza

The annual Easter Eggstravaganza will be held Saturday, March 26, beginning at 10 a.m., at the Ozarks Community Hospital, 1101 Jackson Street, S.W., in Gravette, with fun for all ages. The event will be held rain or shine and will feature an egg hunt for children up to age 10, separated by age groups. The Easter bunny will be on hand to greet the youngsters. Gentry Story Time

Gentry Public Library holds Story Time with Grandma Betty each Friday. Grandma Betty will read aloud children's favorite books from 2 to 3 p.m. in the children's area of the library. For more information, call 479-736-2054.

GED Classes

Free GED classes will be held at the Gravette Public Library from 4 to 6 p.m. on Mondays and Wednesdays continuing through May 13. Classes are open enrollment, so students may enroll anytime and finish when they are ready. Come by the library, 119 Main Street, S.E., to enroll, or call 479-986-6911.

Highfill Food Pantry

The Highfill United Methodist food pantry is open from 6 to 8 p.m. on the second and fourth Wednesdays of the month. For more information, call the church at 479-736-1275.

Maysville Food Pantry

Maysville Bible Church is sponsoring a monthly food giveaway which is held the first Saturday of each month. The next giveaway will be from 9 a.m. until 12 noon on Saturday, March 5, at the church. The only qualification to receive food is to answer the question, "Do you need food?" No proof of income is needed.

Decatur Food Pantry

Decatur United Methodist Church has a community food pantry open the first and third Thursday of each month. The only requirement for the pantry is that one live in the 72722 zip code area. An identification and a piece of mail showing one's residence in the Decatur area is required. There is also a USDA commodity program available which is income-based. Those wishing to do so can fill out an application to see if they qualify.

Tired Iron Meetings

Tired Iron of the Ozarks meets at 7 p.m. on the third Tuesdays of the month at the club's showgrounds, 13344 Taylor Orchard Road, Gentry. The Spring Crankup show is scheduled for April 15,16 and 17. Show times are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Friday and Saturday and from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Sunday. As usual, the shows are free to the public.

Lions Club

Gravette Lions Club meets at noon on the first Tuesday of every month at the In-Zone Restaurant on Arkansas Hwy. 59 N. in Gravette and at 7 p.m. on the third Tuesday of every month at Imagine Before and After School Care, 206 Birmingham St., S.E., The Gentry Lions Club meets at 6:30 p.m. on the fourth Monday of the month at the McKee Community Room in Gentry Public Library. New members are welcome and invited.

Gravette Kiwanis

The Gravette Kiwanis Club holds breakfast meetings at 7 a.m. each Friday at the cafeteria in Ozarks Community Hospital. Guests are welcome.

Gravette Legion

Gravette American Legion Post 25 meets at 7 p.m. the third Tuesday of the month at the Civic Center. All veterans are encouraged to attend.

Singing Services

Monthly singing services at Mason Valley Baptist Church Activity Center are held at 7 p.m. the second Friday of each month. The church is located on Arkansas Hwy. 12, between Highfill and Vaughn. Everyone is invited.

Decatur VFW Meetings

VFW Post 9834 meets at 7 p.m. on the first Tuesday of each month. New members and guests are welcome.
