Springs sports starting in Gentry and Gravette

WESTSIDE -- Spring sports gets underway this week, with baseball, softball, soccer and track competition starting up.

Gravette's baseball team will play in Gentry in a non-conference game on Thursday. Game time is at 5 p.m. for the varsity teams. JV games will follow. Gentry hosts Elkins at 5 p.m. on Friday. Gravette travels to Siloam Springs on Friday. Game time is 5 p.m.

Gravette plays in the NWA/River Valley Tournament next week, with games March 7-9 and 12. Gentry will host Oaks (Okla.) on Tuesday at 4:30 p.m.

The Lady Lions start their spring softball season on Monday and Tuesday, hosting Rogers Heritage on Monday and traveling to Greenland on Tuesday. Game times are 5 p.m. and 4:30 p.m. respectively. The girls play in the Van Buren Invitational Tournament March 11-12.

Gentry's girls will travel to Rogers on Thursday and host HarBer of Springdale on Tuesday, with game time listed as 5 p.m.

Gentry's track team competes against Pea Ridge on Thursday and travels to Siloam Springs next week Thursday. Gravette's track team is also scheduled to compete in Siloam Springs.

Gentry's soccer teams host Bentonville on Thursday with the JVgirls scheduled to play at 4:30 p.m.; the varsity girls at 6 and the varsity boys at 7:30. On Monday, Gentry hosts Springdale, with the girls playing at 5 p.m. and the boys at 7.
