Lions win two last week by 10 runs

GRAVETTE -- The Lions got in two games during a rainy week and won both by a score of 12 to 2.

Gravette hosted Cedarville on Friday in a league game and had nine runs on the board before Cedarville picked up its only runs in the fourth inning. And with another two runs in the bottom of the fourth and one in the fifth, the game was over in five, with the Lions up by 10 runs, 12-2.

Trey Nunnally pitched for the Lions and allowed seven hits and two earned runs but struck out nine Cedarville batters in five innings. Nunnally was also three for three with his bat and had two runs batted in.

Jackson Soule' was four for four, with his two singles, a double and a triple in the game. He had four RBIs.

Gravette had 15 hits in the game.

Against Huntsville on March 7, the Lions broke open the game in the bottom of the first inning, scoring six. And they did it again in the fourth, giving them a big win over Huntsville, which scored solo runs in the first and fourth.

Kilby Roberts pitched four innings for Gravette as the game starter. He struck out seven, allowed six hits and one earned run. Trey Nunnally finished the game, striking out the first two batters of the fifth, with the third batter flying out to third base.

Thirteen Lions made it to first on balls. Luke Summerford pounded out a triple and picked up three RBIs. The Lions picked up 12 runs on three hits.

Huntsville had six pitchers in the game and allowed only two earned runs.
