— It didn't take long, but it was exciting and much anticipated. Children and their parents and grandparents lined up behind police tape in the city park and waited anxiously for that moment when children could begin picking up the many plastic Easter eggs and drop them into their baskets and buckets.

Eggs were scattered everywhere across the ground in the designated areas for each age group. Then came the starting siren and children scurried to pick up the eggs.

Within a few minutes the hunt was done and children lined up to receive their prizes. Students from Gentry High School helped distribute the goodies; and four children, one from each age group, won a new tricycle or bicycle, provided by business partners of the Gentry Chamber of Commerce. All won other prizes, including treats from McKee Foods bakery.

This year's bikes and trike were provided by: Arvest Bank, Grand Savings Bank, C&J Liquors and Inuendos/David VanZandt. Winners were: Penelope Dunn, 18 months; Alana Wilson, 5; Galatea Johnson, 6; and Keagen Moore, 9.

And then, more quickly than it had started, it all was over for another year.
