Lions bring home victory from Missouri

GRAVETTE -- Brady Rolsma almost threw a no-hitter against McDonald County (Mo.) on Monday. A seventh-inning McDonald County single put an end to the no-hitter, but the late effort wasn't enough to keep the Lions from bringing home a 5-2 victory in the non-conference game.

The Lions scored their first run in the fourth inning when Rolsma walked and made it home on a Jackson Soule' single to right field.

The Lions added four more in the top of the fifth. Jace Russ reached on an error and scored on a Newbill Nick single. Chase Owens singled to left, scoring Dylan Gruver. Owens and Rolsma, who was hit by a pitch, also managed to make it home.

McDonald County's two runs came in the bottom of the seventh.

Soule' and Nick had the only RBIs in the game for Gravette. Gruver led in hits with two. Rolsma pitched for seven innings, allowing three hits and two runs. He struck out six.
