GENTRY -- Surrounded by his family, coach and teammates, C.J. Taylor signed a letter of intent to attend Connors State College in Warner, Okla., and play baseball there in the spring during a special ceremony on May 11 at Gentry High School.

Taylor was active in baseball, football, basketball and bowling at Gentry High School. He earned all-conference and all-state baseball honors this spring and all-conference football honors last fall.

"C.J. is a very special kid but not because of his athleticism," said Gentry's head baseball coach, Justin Ledbetter. "It's pretty given that he is an incredible athlete who will succeed well beyond the high school level, but the best thing about him is his ability to affect the others around him. He is a true leader on and off the field!"
