Pioneers grab early lead but unable to stop wolves in second half

— The Pioneers took an early lead over the visiting Lincoln Wolves in Gentry on Friday, but the Wolves scored 20 points in the third quarter and picked up another eight in the final quarter to rob the Pioneers of the win, 42-34.

Jon Faulkenberry carried in four touchdowns in the game for Gentry. He had 257 rushing yards and 70 passing yards in the game.

Cole Cripps caught one in the end zone for a touchdown and would have had two more TDs, one on a recovered fumble which was called back and the other when he was hit hard by defenders before he could grab an incoming pass near the end zone.

Garrett Matthews kicked four point-afters in five attempts for the Pioneers.

Miles McFerron had numerous carries during the game and finished with 142 rushing yards.

Carlos Alverez had six solo tackles and three assists in the game.

The Pioneers travel north to face the Lions in Gravette for the final game of the regular season on Friday. Game time is at 7 p.m.
