Gravette Historical Museum plans holiday open house

GRAVETTE -- The annual Christmas parade in Gravette is planned for Saturday, Dec. 3, at 4 p.m. As they did last year, parade participants will travel down Main Street and make their way southward to the Gravette Historical Museum. The museum is hosting a "Santa Claus is Coming to Town" open house immediately after the parade.

The Kindley house this year will feature a beautiful display of Santas, a collection furnished by museum commission member Lavon Stark. The Kindleys are expected to greet guests on the front porch. Miss Lauren Leonard will be helping everyone get in the holiday spirit by playing seasonal tunes in the music room.

Hot cocoa will be served by representatives from the Billy V. Hall Senior Activity Center and area churches have furnished Christmas cookies to munch on. Mike von Ree will be making a big batch of his famous chili. Those who need further warmth can plan on gathering around the fire pit in the back yard.

Santa and Mrs. Claus will be in the annex building next door listening to children's wish lists. His Town and Country elves will be present to help everyone make holiday crafts. Steve Huckriede will be the photographer for this special evening.
