Letter to the editor

Editor,

Gravette Upper Elementary would like to extend a big "thank you" for attending the fall session of parent-teacher conferences! In the fall session, we had 72 percent of parents in attendance. This was an exciting parent-teacher experience as this year we enacted student-led conferences building-wide. Student-led conferences are an exciting way for our students to develop leadership skills, to be empowered and to take ownership for their learning.

I know many parents were impressed with this new way of checking their child's progress in school. Parents also received positive parenting tips; and third grade parents, as well as new parents to our school, had an opportunity to complete a survey of how GUE is doing.

Thank you to the parents who completed the survey. We will analyze survey results and make improvements to our school based on the information you provided to us. So, thank you for helping us look at ways to improve our school!

We look forward to seeing all parents again in the spring for parent-teacher conferences. Those will take place March 13-17.
