— Decatur residents of all ages will soon be aglow when that ever popular visitor from the north, holder of the naughty or nice list and conveyor of cheer, Santa Claus, comes to town.

The Decatur Chamber of Commerce will host its annual Christmas Festival Dec. 9 in downtown Decatur and at the Decatur High School cafeteria.

The Christmas Parade is slated to begin at 6 p.m. on Main Street in Decatur. Lineup will begin at 5:30 p.m. in the parking lot at Decatur City Hall. This will be the last of four parades that graced the downtown area this year.

"We encourage our local businesses, civic organizations and school groups to participate in this year's event," said Justin Lovitt, Chamber president. "We would like to make this one of the biggest parades in Decatur this year."

At the conclusion of the parade, Mr. and Mrs. Claus will be available in the cafeteria at Decatur High to greet young and old alike. Make sure to bring your Christmas list to show Santa Claus.
