DECATUR -- Coming off of its second conference victory of the season, the Decatur Lady Bulldogs played host to the West Fork Tigers at Peterson Gym in Decatur on Oct. 3.

The two teams last met Sept. 13 at West Fork where the Tigers took the match in three straight sets.

In this match, the Tigers overwhelmed the Bulldogs, holding them to single digits in the first two sets, 25 to 5 and 25 to 8. It looked like a repeat of the earlier match in West Fork.

But Decatur bounced back in the third set, taking an early five point lead. The Tigers would come back to tie the set at 11. The lead changed hands several times during most of the second half of the set. With the game tied at 21 all, the Tigers gained the advantage, hitting three straight points to take the final set, 25 to 21, and the match in three straight sets.

The Decatur Bulldogs senior girls dropped to 2 and 11 in conference and 2 and 13 overall going into the Gravette Lions match at Gravette Oct. 4.

The Bulldogs conclude their 2016 season with their final home match at Peterson Gym in Decatur Oct. 11 and the final match of the regular season Oct. 13 when they take on the Elks in Elkins. Both games start at 4:30 p.m. with the junior high A and B teams.

In other West Fork matches, the junior high B team was defeated by the Tigers, 25 to 15 and 25 to 20. The junior high A team was also defeated by West Fork, 25 to 16 and 25 to 19.
