— The girls of Gentry High School took to the gridiron on Wednesday during homecoming week to determine which class had the best girls’ football team. And the seniors, who took the championship last year in their junior year, did it again, defeating freshman and sophomore teams for this year’s championship.

The event on Oct. 5 began with a blowout win for the seniors over the freshmen, 16-0. Then, in a close game between the sophomores and the juniors, the sophomores squeaked by with a 13-12 win which was threatened all the way up into the final seconds.

With time short and the consolation game called, the seniors faced the sophomores. And though the sophomores put up a good fight, the seniors finally took the victory and the powder puff championship by a score of 13-6.
