— With the exception of a bridge over the dam and spillway, the paving of trails is finished at the Flint Creek Nature Area on the south side of Gentry; and the trails give park visitors the opportunity to take a walk along the spring-fed fishing ponds and streams and through the woods near Flint Creek without making a pathway through weeds and brush.

The paved asphalt trails are 8-feet wide and make for easy walking. And one can enjoy nature on the trails without the worry of chiggers and ticks.

The trails are handicap accessible and ADA compliant, making it possible for parents to push strollers or those in wheel chairs or scooters to also enjoy the beauties of nature along Flint Creek.

The trails run along Dawn Hill East Road (just west of Arkansas Highway 59), around the fishing ponds and through the wooded area near Flint Creek.

The new city park is open from dawn to dusk each day. Parking is available along Dawn Hill East Road, and park rules, including fishing regulations, are posted.

With the paving work finished, city crews plan to do some additional work to build up the edges of the trails, so there may be some times when the park or a portion of it is closed for the work to be completed. But, with that exception, the new nature park is open for area residents to enjoy.
