Lions come from behind to defeat Bobcats

GRAVETTE -- The Lions held their host team, the Berryville Bobcats, to two touchdowns and a two-point conversion on Friday as they came back from a first-quarter deficit to take the lead and win the game.

The Lions' first score came on a field goal kick by Chris Childress, who added another four points later in the game with point-after kicks. Berryville managed to get the first touchdown of the game, but Gravette held Berryville scoreless for the next two quarters and took the lead, adding nine points in the second quarter, 14 in the third and seven in the final quarter of play.

The Bobcats scored one more time with a TD and two-point conversion in the fourth quarter, but it wasn't enough and the Lions brought home another win, 33-14.

Scoring touchdowns for Gravette were Austin O'Brien, Brady Moorman, Dylan Gruver and Bailey Soule. Gruver scored on a kickoff return and Moorman on a pass play.

Aaron Campbell picked up a safety for the Lions in the second quarter.

The Lions picked up 156 rushing yards in 36 carries and 124 passing yards on eight receptions, five of those to Brady Moorman.

The Lions return home to take on the Huntsville Eagles in Gravette's homecoming contest on Friday. Game time is 7 p.m.
