Family Fall Festival planned at Heritage Baptist Church

Heritage Baptist Church will hold a Family Fall Festival for children, ages birth to sixth grade, on Wednesday, Oct. 26, from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Families and children are invited to walk through the festival of fun and games. They are guaranteed to take home a bag of goodies. Games, cake walks, face painting, food and much more are planned. Families are urged to come and enjoy the fun and excitement, but no scary costumes, please.

Glenn Duffy Fall Festival

Glenn Duffy Elementary School in Gravette will hold its annual fall festival from 5 to 7:30 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 28. The event is a family-fun night with carnival games, a chili dinner, costume contest and silent auction held at the school, 601 El Paso Street, SE. Glenn Duffy PTO hosts the event, which has been a community tradition over the past 40 years.

Octoberfest Pageants coming up

Miss Octoberfest Pageants will be held Saturday, Oct. 29, at the Gentry High School Auditorium. The pageants are sponsored by the Gentry Junior High Cheerleaders. The pageants are open to any and all participants, with age divisions from 0 months to 18 years, including divisions for boys from 0 months to 6 years of age. Applications are available online at www.gentrypioneers.com. The school website also contains information regarding times and fees. Deadline for applications is Oct. 21. Gravette Fall Festival

A community fall festival will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 29, in the front parking lot at Ozarks Community Hospital of Gravette. Trunk or treat will be held for the youngsters, as well as free games, candy and food. Activities will include face painting, pumpkin painting and crafts, and a petting zoo. A chili cook off will be held, with the winner of the best chili receiving $100 cash (maybe more if there are more entries) and the best-decorated cook off booth receiving a $50 cash prize. Gravette baseball and softball signups coming in January

Online player registration for the 2017 season will be available on Jan. 1 at www.leaguelineup.com/gravette. Coach and umpire applications may also be submitted online at that time. Additional registration details will be posted on the website then as well.

Trick or Treat on Main Street set for Oct. 31

The annual Trick or Treat on Main Street event in Gentry is set to begin at 5:30 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 31. Children in costumes will be able to receive candies and treats from Gentry business owners along Main Street at the event.

Church holding hat and glove giveaway

Fellowship Full Gospel Church in Decatur is having a hat and glove giveaway at the Decatur Train Depot from 9 a.m. until noon on Saturday, Nov. 19, to ensure that area residents stay warm during the winter months. Anyone needing a winter hat or a pair of gloves is invited to come to the event.

Lions Club meetings held in Gravette and Gentry

Gravette Lions Club meets at noon on the first Tuesday and the third Tuesday of every month at the In-Zone Restaurant on Arkansas 59 North in Gravette. The Gentry Lions Club meets at 6:30 p.m. on the fourth Monday of the month at the McKee Community Room in Gentry Public Library. New members are welcome and invited.

Tired Iron Club to meet

Tired Iron of the Ozarks antique engine and tractor club meets at 7 p.m. the third Tuesday of each month at the club's showgrounds, located at 13344 Taylor Orchard Road in Gentry. For more information, visit the club's website at www.tiredironoftheozarks.org.

Gravette Kiwanis Club plans breakfast meetings

The Gravette Kiwanis Club holds breakfast meetings at 7 a.m. each Friday at the cafeteria in Ozarks Community Hospital. Guests are welcome.

Gravette Legion meets third Tuesday of month

Gravette American Legion Post 25 meets at 7 p.m. the third Tuesday of the month at the Civic Center. All veterans are encouraged to attend.

Singing services planned

Monthly singing services at Falling Springs Church are held at 7 p.m. the first Friday of each month. The church is located northwest of Gentry and west of Decatur on Falling Springs Road.

Decatur VFW meetings first Tuesday of month

VFW Post 9834 meets at 7:30 p.m. on the first Tuesday of each month. New members and guests are welcome.
