GENTRY -- In addition to the wildlife, birds and butterflies along the Eagle Watch Nature Area, a variety of flowers greet early September visitors. The sunflowers and thistle flowers growing among the tall Indian grass in the prairie plot add beautiful color to the waving tall grasses there. And, along the trail, there are other colors, including woodland sunflowers and the purple berries of the poke weed.

And, when visitors stop to view the flowers, they can't help but see a wide variety of bees, butterflies and insects visiting the colorful blooms as well and spreading the pollen which enables the plants to reproduce.

It doesn't matter the season. There's always something to see and photograph along the Eagle Watch trail, making it a good place to stop and visit often. And the 1/4 mile trail is easy walking, with places to rest along the way -- and watch the beauties of nature preserved and protected there.
