Lions bring home 47-41 win from Oklahoma

GRAVETTE -- Three touchdowns in the fourth quarter finally gave the Gravette Lions the edge in a tough game at Jay, Okla., on Friday night. The Lions brought home a 47-41 victory.

The two teams went head-to-head in the first three quarters, each picking up a single touchdown in the first two quarters and each scoring two in the third. When the fourth quarter began, it was 27-26 in favor of Jay because the Lions failed to score extra points after their first-half touchdowns and then picked up a two-point conversion in the third.

The Jay Bulldogs scored another two TDs and PATs in the final quarter, but the Lions picked up three TDs and three extra points to take the game, 47-41.

Kilby Roberts, Logan Rachel, Brady Moorman, Hunter Deaton and Mason Martinez each scored TDs for Gravette. Bailey Soule' picked up two TDs. Extra points were scored by Austin O'Brien and Dylan Gruver. Roberto Barrios kicked one between the posts in the Lions' only PAT attempt.

The Lions finished with 285 rushing yards and 182 passing yards in the game.

Kenton Tajchman had four solo tackles in the game and seven assists.

The Lions travel to Lincoln to take on the Wolves on Friday. Game time is 7 p.m.
