Benton County Office of Emergency Communications celebrates National Public Safety Telecommunicators Week

BENTON COUNTY -- The Benton County Office of Emergency Communications is celebrating the second full week of April (April 9-15) as National Public Safety Telecommunicators Week. This is celebrated annually and honors the thousands of men and women who respond to emergency calls for help, dispatch emergency professionals and equipment, and render life-saving assistance to the citizens of Benton County.

Public safety dispatchers are the first first responders. They are the unseen voice behind the radio when police, fire or EMS personnel are responding to emergency situations. They are the calm, reassuring voice on the other end of an emergency call for help. Public safety telecommunicators provide a vital link between the citizens and first responders.

The Benton County Office of Emergency Communications is proud to celebrate and honor its dedicated public safety dispatchers who serve Benton County. Benton County Emergency Communications is a 24 hour, 365 days a year operation. Its personnel dispatch for a number of law enforcement agencies, fire departments and EMS agencies.
