Gravette farmers market to open April 15

— The Gravette farmers' market will open for the 2017 season on Saturday, April 15, according to Beth Patton, co-manager of the market. Market vendors will be set up in the market pavilion in Old Town Park, just east of downtown on Arkansas Highway 72. Hours of operation will be from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. each Saturday through November, or until the first frost.

Patton and her husband Jack, market co-manager Evelyn McGraw and Paul Mahon will be among the returning vendors. Regular vendors will offer a variety of locally-grown produce, including fresh fruits and vegetables, garden plants and flowers, farm-raised pork, grass-fed Angus beef, eggs, jams and jellies, honey and baked goods. Gayle Williams, of Williams Woodcrafts, will be on hand selling her hand-made pens and several new craft vendors have been lined up, Patton said.

Market vendors will take WIC vouchers and senior farmers' market produce coupons in payment for qualified purchases.

Members of the Old Town String Band have announced they will be on hand to play on most Saturdays.

Prospective vendors who have not yet signed up to operate a booth may participate by contacting Beth Patton, 479-787-3313.
