Easter Egg Hunt Eggstravaganza

Decatur Assembly of God, located at 674 N. Main Street in Decatur, will host its annual "Easter Egg Hunt Eggstravaganza" on Saturday, April 15, at 1 p.m. The event for children, ages 0-12, will include more than 5,000 candy-filled eggs, five divisions and hunting areas (including a designated hunting area for children with special needs) and prize eggs and grand prizes in each division. All are welcome.

Gentry Easter Egg Hunt

The Gentry Chamber of Commerce Easter Egg Hunt will be held in the Gentry City Park (on the south side) at 2 p.m. on Saturday, April 15. The event is for children, ages 0-10, and includes prizes and gifts for each child, including a special prize for the winner in each age category. OCH Easter Eggstravaganza

The Ozarks Community Hospital of Gravette will hold its annual Easter Eggstravaganza on Saturday, April 15, with activities beginning at 10 a.m. at the OCH of Gravette Clinic, 1101 Jackson Street, S.W. The event will be held, rain or shine, with fun for all ages, including egg hunts for children 10 and under, separated by age groups, a visit from the Easter bunny, free food, games and activities, and a petting zoo. Personal finance workshops continue

A series of personal finance workshops is continuing at 10 a.m. each Saturday through the month of April at the Gravette Public Library, 119 Main Street, S.E., in Gravette. The topic for Saturday, April 15, is Identity Theft Prevention. This will be followed by workshops on Investments vs. Savings Strategies and Estate Planning 101 and Mortgage Basics. Tired Iron Show set April 14-16

The Spring Crank-up is set for April 14-16 at the Tired Iron of the Ozarks showgrounds, 13344 Taylor Orchard Road in Gentry. The show will be open from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m. on Friday and Saturday and from 8 a.m. until 3 p.m. on Sunday. The featured tractors this spring will be Allis-Chalmers. The featured engine will be the Stover Upright. Other regular features of the show include a working blacksmith shop and sawmills, noon parade of power, tractor games, log cabin, outhouse photo booth, rope making, antique tractor and engine displays, old farm implements and demonstrations, antique home furnishings with demonstrations, concession stand serving breakfast and lunch, music, a flea market, and 9 a.m. Sunday church services. RV parking is available, and the show and visitor parking are free.

Earth Day planned at Eagle Watch

Earth Day will be observed with special programs at the Eagle Watch Nature Trail in Gentry from 9:30 a.m. until 12 noon on Saturday, April 22. University of Arkansas professor Don Steinkraus will speak about the importance of butterflies and moths to our ecosystem; and Lynn Sciumbato, owner and operator of Morningstar Wildlife Rehabilitation Center in Gravette, will show live raptors and speak about the birds and her work as an animal rehabilitator. Those who volunteer will also be able to help plant trees and wildflowers at the nature area. Eagle Watch is located one mile west of Gentry on Arkansas Highway 12. In case of rain, the presentations will be moved to the Gentry Fire Station.

Quilt Class Change

The free class for area quilters and crafters will not meet on its regular third Saturday schedule in April because of the Easter holiday. This month's class will be held at 12:30 p.m. Thursday, April 20, at the Church of Christ annex, 202 Irving St. S.W., in Gravette. Instruction will be given on a quilt block, and a "show and tell" session will be held. Please bring finished projects or works in progress and a snack to share.

Gravette Pee Wee Cheerleaders holding annual sign-ups

Gravette Pee Wee Cheerleaders are holding their annual sign-ups for the 2017 season. Sign-ups continue on May 27 from 12 to 3 p.m., at the Gravette Upper Elementary playground picnic tables. Pre-K, Elementary Registration

Glenn Duffy Elementary School in Gravette has announced kindergarten and pre-K registration applications will be available at the school and online through Friday, April 14. Times for pickup at the school are Monday, Wednesday and Friday between 8:30 a.m. and 4 p.m. and Tuesday and Thursday between 8:30 a.m. and 7 p.m. For information about required items, visit the school website under Parent tab or call 479-787-4120. GFA Food Pantry open Mondays in Gentry

The GFA Food Pantry at the First Assembly of God in Gentry is open from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Mondays. The church partnered with the NWA Food Bank and Rural Compassion to receive food to be given away, including canned goods, fresh vegetables, bread and meats as part of the only certified food bank in Gentry. School Annuals Needed

Several Gravette High School annuals are still needed to complete the collection at the Gravette Historical Museum. Annuals needed are those from the following years: 1952, 1955, 1956, 1957, 1958, 1959, 1960, 1961, 1963, 1965, 1966, 1967, 1976, 1977, 1979, 1981, 1984, 1997, 1998, 1999, 2001, 2002, 2004 and 2007. Anyone having school annuals from these years they are willing to donate may call Lavon Stark, 479-787-5618, or bring them to the museum during open hours, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Thursday, Friday and Saturday.

Lions Club meetings held in Gravette and Gentry

Gravette Lions Club meets at noon on the first Tuesday and the third Tuesday of every month at the In-Zone Restaurant on Arkansas 59 North in Gravette. The Gentry Lions Club meets at 6:30 p.m. on the fourth Monday of the month at the McKee Community Room in Gentry Public Library. New members are welcome and invited.

Tired Iron Club meets third Tuesday of month

Gravette Kiwanis Club plans breakfast meetings

The Gravette Kiwanis Club holds breakfast meetings at 7 a.m. each Friday at the cafeteria in Ozarks Community Hospital. Guests are welcome.

Gravette Legion meets third Tuesday of month

Gravette American Legion Post 25 meets at 7 p.m. the third Tuesday of the month at the Civic Center. All veterans are encouraged to attend.

Singing services planned

Monthly singing services at Falling Springs Church are held at 7 p.m. the first Friday of each month. The church is located northwest of Gentry and west of Decatur on Falling Springs Road.

Decatur VFW meetings first Tuesday of month

VFW Post 9834 meets at 7:30 p.m. on the first Tuesday of each month. New members and guests are welcome.
