Gravette Church of God (Holiness)

The Church of God (Holiness), located at Fourth and Atlanta in Gravette, will be in revival from April 25-30. The speaker will be Rev. Wallace Thorton of Somerset, Kentucky. He, along with his wife Carolyn and daughter Angela, will be singing, as well. The public is invited to attend the services each night at 7:30, Tuesday through Saturday, and at 10:45 a.m. and 6 p.m. on Sunday. For information or transportation, call 787-7312.

Daniel Cemetery Cleanup

The annual cemetery cleanup at the Daniel Cemetery on N. Mount Pleasant Road in Gravette will be at 1 p.m. on Saturday, April 22. Volunteers are needed. Bring your tools for the cleanup. For more information, call 479-936-4294.

Maysville Community Building Spring Fundraiser

The Maysville Community Building spring fundraiser will be April 29th. A Chuck Wagon Dinner will be served, consisting of a hamburger with all the trimmings, cole slaw, baked beans and a drink, for $6. Serving will begin at 5:30 p.m. There will also be homemade pies and cakes available for purchase and an old fashioned cakewalk for the kids to enjoy.

Ministerial Alliance Prayer Breakfast set

On Monday, May 1, Gentry First Assembly of God will be hosting the Ministerial Alliance Prayer Breakfast at 7 a.m. Pastor Michael Powers will be sharing about the new community outreach of GFA Food Pantry, followed by a time of prayer. Everyone is invited to attend the breakfast and tour the food pantry. The church is located at 821 East Main Street, just east of the Dollar General store.

Personal finance workshops continue

A series of personal finance workshops is continuing at 10 a.m. each Saturday through the month of April at the Gravette Public Library, 119 Main Street, S.E., in Gravette. The topics for Saturday, April 22, are Saving vs. Investment Strategies and Estate Planning 101. This will be followed by a workshop on Mortgage Basics Saturday, April 29. Earth Day planned at Eagle Watch

Earth Day will be observed with special programs at the Eagle Watch Nature Trail in Gentry from 9:30 a.m. until 12 noon on Saturday, April 22. University of Arkansas professor Don Steinkraus will speak about the importance of butterflies and moths to our ecosystem; and Lynn Sciumbato, owner and operator of Morningstar Wildlife Rehabilitation Center in Gravette, will show live raptors and speak about the birds and her work as an animal rehabilitator. Those who volunteer will also be able to help plant trees and wildflowers at the nature area. Eagle Watch is located one mile west of Gentry on Arkansas Highway 12. In case of rain, the presentations will be moved to the Gentry Fire Station.

Quilt Class Change

The free class for area quilters and crafters was changed from its regular third Saturday schedule in April because of the Easter holiday. This month's class will be held at 12:30 p.m. Thursday, April 20, at the Church of Christ annex, 202 Irving St., S.W., in Gravette. Instruction will be given on a quilt block, and a "show and tell" session will be held. Please bring finished projects or works in progress and a snack to share.

Gravette Pee Wee Cheerleaders holding annual sign-ups

Gravette Pee Wee Cheerleaders are holding their annual sign-ups for the 2017 season. Sign-ups continue on May 27 from 12 to 3 p.m., at the Gravette Upper Elementary playground picnic tables. GFA Food Pantry open Mondays in Gentry

The GFA Food Pantry at the First Assembly of God in Gentry is open from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Mondays. The church partnered with the NWA Food Bank and Rural Compassion to receive food to be given away, including canned goods, fresh vegetables, bread and meats as part of the only certified food bank in Gentry. School Annuals Needed

Several Gravette High School annuals are still needed to complete the collection at the Gravette Historical Museum. Annuals needed are those from the following years: 1952, 1955, 1956, 1957, 1958, 1959, 1960, 1961, 1963, 1965, 1966, 1967, 1976, 1977, 1979, 1981, 1984, 1997, 1998, 1999, 2001, 2002, 2004 and 2007. Anyone having school annuals from these years they are willing to donate may call Lavon Stark, 479-787-5618, or bring them to the museum during open hours, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Thursday, Friday and Saturday.

NAGS to meet April 24

The Northwest Arkansas Genealogical Society will meet Monday, April 24, at 6 p.m., at the Bentonville Public Library. The Benton County Cemetery Preservation Group will present a program on current cemetery preservation efforts in Benton County. Partnerships with local civic groups will be covered, along with a variety of different programs and private citizens' efforts to preserve and maintain local cemeteries. Lions Club meetings held in Gravette and Gentry

Gravette Lions Club meets at noon on the first Tuesday and the third Tuesday of every month at the In-Zone Restaurant on Arkansas 59 North in Gravette. The Gentry Lions Club meets at 6:30 p.m. on the fourth Monday of the month at the McKee Community Room in Gentry Public Library. New members are welcome and invited.

Tired Iron Club meets third Tuesday of month

Tired Iron of the Ozarks antique engine and tractor club meets at 7 p.m. the third Tuesday of each month at the club's showgrounds, located at 13344 Taylor Orchard Road in Gentry. For more information, visit the club's website at www.tiredironoftheozarks.org.

Gravette Kiwanis Club plans breakfast meetings

The Gravette Kiwanis Club holds breakfast meetings at 7 a.m. each Friday at the cafeteria in Ozarks Community Hospital. Guests are welcome.

Gravette Legion meets third Tuesday of month

Gravette American Legion Post 25 meets at 7 p.m. the third Tuesday of the month at the Civic Center. All veterans are encouraged to attend.

Singing services planned

Monthly singing services at Falling Springs Church are held at 7 p.m. the first Friday of each month. The church is located northwest of Gentry and west of Decatur on Falling Springs Road.

Decatur VFW meetings first Tuesday of month

VFW Post 9834 meets at 7:30 p.m. on the first Tuesday of each month. New members and guests are welcome.
