Seniors dance away the night during Decatur Prom

DECATUR -- Under a perfect sunset April 14, seniors, juniors and sophomores gathered for the night of their life, the 2017 Decatur High School prom.

Dressed in tuxedos and bow ties and gowns of different colors, the students made the short journey to the Horton Farm retreat, about 15 miles northeast of Decatur, for food, fellowship and lots of dancing.

Around 75 students, faculty, staff and friends of Decatur High School gathered in the center of the dance floor for one last group picture before graduation in May. Then it was time to dance, and dance they did.

They slow danced, fast danced, line danced to the Macarena and even zombie danced to Michael Jackson's "Thriller." But there was one dance that was reserved for two very special individuals.

Marck Guadarrams and Michelle Vang took the dance floor as the 2017 prom king and queen.

As quickly as it began, the night of festivities was over. But the memories of this special night will last a lifetime.
