Gentry gets past Lincoln, but falls to Harrison

GENTRY -- With the game tied at five runs each after seven, the Gentry Lady Pioneers got past the visiting Lady Wolves of Lincoln, 6-5, in the bottom of the eighth April 18 on a fielder's choice. Makensi Sweeten hit into the fielder's choice and brought home the winning run.

Gentry allowed Lincoln to score three runs in the sixth on errors and another in the top of the seventh, but tied the game back up at five in the seventh, thanks to a Taylor Hull single and a Lincoln error.

Lincoln led in hits, with 10. Gentry had six hits in the game.

Hull led the Lady Pioneers with two RBIs. Alyssa Kelton had two hits and an RBI in the game.

Lincoln had seven errors in the game. Gentry had three.

Harrison shut out the Gentry girls in spite of their six hits and scored a single run in the fifth for the 1-0 non-conference win on April 17.

Alyssa Kelton was three for three with her bat, with one of those being a double. She struck out two Harrison batters in the game and walked one.
