Free Barbecued dinner offered in Sulphur Springs

Get a free barbecue meal for showing up at the Sulphur Springs' park between 5:30 and 8 p.m. on Saturday, May 6. Volunteer firefighters will serve barbecued chicken, coleslaw, potato salad and baked beans free to all as they give back and pay forward to its supportive community. Donations will be accepted.

SSRH to host blood drive on May 16

Siloam Springs Regional Hospital will host a blood drive from 2:30-5:30 p.m. Tuesday, May 16, in the Community Blood Center of the Ozarks bloodmobile at the SSRH parking lot -- 603 N. Progress Ave. in Siloam Springs. To be eligible to give blood, one must weigh at least 110 pounds, be in good health and present a valid photo ID. CBCO offers the following tips for those planning to make a donation: drink plenty of water or juice the night and morning before; eat a well-balanced meal about two to three hours before giving; bring a valid photo ID, required of all donors. Sonshine Quartet to sing at Heritage Baptsist

The Sonshine Quartet will be in concert at 10 a.m. on Sunday, April 30, at Heritage Baptist Church in Gravette. The Sonshine Quartet began when four teenage boys from Gravette High School became spiritual brothers and started a journey of singing and praising the Lord that continues yet today after more than 40 years. Brothers Don and Lee Donell, along with Steve Tucker and Bruce Wilbanks, formed a quartet in high school choir and then began singing in local churches. Two years later, Jon Pickup became the group's piano player and fill-in singer when necessary. The quartet has traveled and sung in many states over the years and is blessed to be able to still serve the Lord together through song and testimony. It has recorded two albums, "To Jesus With Love" and "Reunion."

Quartet to sing at Mason Valley Baptist

Everyone is invited to a Gospel Concert by the "Sonshine Quartet" from Gravette, to be held at Mason Valley Baptist Church, with Osage Mills Baptist Church as co-host. This event will be on Sunday evening, April 30. There will be snacks at 5:30 p.m., and the singing will begin at 6 p.m. Mason Valley Church is located on Arkansas Highway 12, west of Bentonville, halfway between Vaughn and Highfill, three miles from each. Families, friends and neighbors are invited to come out and listen to gospel singing.

Gravette Church of God (Holiness) holding revival

The Church of God (Holiness), located at Fourth and Atlanta in Gravette, will be in revival from April 25-30. The speaker will be Rev. Wallace Thorton of Somerset, Kentucky. He, along with his wife Carolyn and daughter Angela, will be singing, as well. The public is invited to attend the services each night at 7:30, Tuesday through Saturday, and at 10:45 a.m. and 6 p.m. on Sunday. For information or transportation, call 787-7312.

Maysville Community Building Spring Fundraiser

The Maysville Community Building spring fundraiser will be April 29th. A Chuck Wagon Dinner will be served, consisting of a hamburger with all the trimmings, cole slaw, baked beans and a drink, for $6. Serving will begin at 5:30 p.m. There will also be homemade pies and cakes available for purchase and an old fashioned cakewalk for the kids to enjoy.

Ministerial Alliance Prayer Breakfast set

On Monday, May 1, Gentry First Assembly of God will be hosting the Ministerial Alliance Prayer Breakfast at 7 a.m. Pastor Michael Powers will be sharing about the new community outreach of GFA Food Pantry, followed by a time of prayer. Everyone is invited to attend the breakfast and tour the food pantry. The church is located at 821 East Main Street, just east of the Dollar General store.

Final personal finance workshop offered

OCH to hold craft, vendor festival on May 10

The Ozarks Community Hospital health system will hold its annual spring fling craft and vendor festival Wednesday, May 10, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. This is for individuals who own a business, are seeking to offer services, promote their organization or individual event or raise awareness or funds for a cause or nonprofit and for general promotion of businesses and their services. Booth reservations are $5 per booth. Tables and chairs are available for use. All other materials must be provided by the vendor. Gravette Pee Wee Cheerleaders holding sign-ups

Gravette Pee Wee Cheerleaders are holding their annual sign-ups for the 2017 season. Sign-ups continue on May 27 from 12 to 3 p.m., at the Gravette Upper Elementary playground picnic tables. GFA Food Pantry open Mondays in Gentry

The GFA Food Pantry at the First Assembly of God in Gentry is open from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Mondays. The church partnered with the NWA Food Bank and Rural Compassion to receive food to be given away, including canned goods, fresh vegetables, bread and meats as part of the only certified food bank in Gentry. School Annuals Needed

Several Gravette High School annuals are still needed to complete the collection at the Gravette Historical Museum. Annuals needed are those from the following years: 1952, 1955, 1956, 1957, 1958, 1959, 1960, 1961, 1963, 1965, 1966, 1967, 1976, 1977, 1979, 1981, 1984, 1997, 1998, 1999, 2001, 2002, 2004 and 2007. Anyone having school annuals from these years they are willing to donate may call Lavon Stark, 479-787-5618, or bring them to the museum during open hours, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Thursday, Friday and Saturday.

Lions Club meetings held in Gravette and Gentry

Gravette Lions Club meets at noon on the first Tuesday and the third Tuesday of every month at the In-Zone Restaurant on Arkansas 59 North in Gravette. The Gentry Lions Club meets at 6:30 p.m. on the fourth Monday of the month at the McKee Community Room in Gentry Public Library. New members are welcome and invited.

Tired Iron Club meets third Tuesday of month

Gravette Legion meets third Tuesday of month

Gravette American Legion Post 25 meets at 7 p.m. the third Tuesday of the month at the Civic Center. All veterans are encouraged to attend.

Singing services planned

Monthly singing services at Falling Springs Church are held at 7 p.m. the first Friday of each month. The church is located northwest of Gentry and west of Decatur on Falling Springs Road.

Decatur VFW meets first Tuesday of month

VFW Post 9834 meets at 7:30 p.m. on the first Tuesday of each month. New members and guests are welcome.
