GENTRY — Gentry High School’s annual prom was held Saturday night at the Cypress Barn, located just outside Siloam Springs, and Gentry students and their dates gathered for an evening of dancing, games and entertainment.
Couples, solos and groups arrived and registered, and many paused for a photo together taken by Patrick Lanford, EAST facilitator at the high school and also a photographer. The girls wore evening gowns and the guys, suits, ties and tuxedos for the event.
After a time of visiting and enjoying each other’s company, more and more students began to move to the dance floor and dance to music provided by a local DJ. Things got started with line dancing but there were plenty of opportunities for couples to dance as well as the night wore on.
Avery Cozens was chosen prom king, and Sidney Kinzer, prom queen. The couple danced together as king and queen before returning to dance with their prom dates.
