GRAVETTE -- Stephanie Pinter, a senior at Gravette High School, signed Friday, April 21, to play volleyball at Grand View University, a liberal arts university in Des Moines, Iowa.

Stephanie is the daughter of Jodi and Stephen Pinter of Bella Vista. She was introduced at the signing by her volleyball coach, Katie Collins, who has coached her the last two years since she joined the Lady Lion coaching staff.

"Stephanie is definitely one of the leaders, on the floor or picking the other girls up," Collins said. "She has the most spirit of any player on the team and is a great captain. She is energetic, always pushing people to be better."

Pinter was also a member of the Lady Lion basketball team. Will Pittman, her basketball coach, also spoke briefly and said the Grand View Vikings were fortunate to get her as a team member. Pittman said he had been getting inquiries from Northark about signing her in basketball, had she not decided to play college volleyball.

Pittman said Stephanie, who played post on the basketball team, has been a great leader all the way through school. "She is a high energy person, great to be around, and builds everybody up. I will miss her, not only as a player but also as a great person."

Pinter's parents were on hand for the signing, as well as her sister, Kasey Pinter, a 2004 graduate of Gravette High School. Cake and lemonade were served and classmates and teammates signed a special picture frame as a souvenir of the occasion for Stephanie.
